Among the large crowd which assembled at Newtown Park, Wellington, to witness the “Living Flag” display there were many jvoinen. Some, in order to obtain a good position on the bank, hurried to the park at an early hour, and apparently the long wait in the bright sunshine did not put some of them in the best humour. Feeling tired, no doubt, after sitting down for a couple of hours, one man stood up “to stretch his legs.” Ho was immediately asked to sit down by a smartlydressed lady, but this request ho did not obey. “Just won’t you sit down!” retorted the lady - indignantly. “We shall see.” With her gay little parasol she then made a sweep at the offender. His hat was off in a flash, and. urged by other women nearby, she aimed blows at the man’s shoulders until he thought better and dived for his seat again.
