EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the committee 06 lhe Early Settlers’ Association wa» held on Tuesday afternoon in the board room. Air W. Nicolson (president) occupied the chair. The following gifts were received and votes of thanks were passed to the donors: —From the estate of the late Mrs E. MacDonald, framed portrait of her late husband, Jno. Macdonald, Dunedin, Philip Laing 1848; Mrs Hutchison, Oainaru, framed portraits of her late parents, Mr and Mrs W. Brash, Saddle Hill, Three Bells 1858; also framed portrait of her husband and herself—Mr Hutchison, Young America 1862, Mrs Hutchison, Three Bells 1858; L. S. Ferens, Dunedin, lithographic picture of New Zealand and South Seas' Exhibition, 1925-1926; Miss Ellis, Duke street, programme of united thanksgiving service held in Knox Church, June 22, 1887, on Queen Victoria’s jubilee. The following deaths were reported:— James Wilson, Goodwood, late Maori Hill, Strathallan 1858; Mrs C. Densetn, Pert Chalmers (83), Nelson 1562; Airs Adelaide Mosley. Gore, late Clutha (76), Beautiful Star 1867; Thos Jamieson. VVaiwera South (86), arrived 1863; Henry Rosevero, Clinton (74), early 1860’s; William Bayley, Oamaru (78), arrived 1862; Archibald Park, Oamaru, late Waikouaiti (78), Ocean Chief 1860; G. G. Sim, Highcliffe road, late Panaroa (73), Strathfieldsave 1858; James Aliller, Port Molyneux (83). Caribou 1866. The following early settlers were enrolled:—Thomas M'Kay, Wingatui, Philip Laing 1848: Airs Thomas M’Kay, nee Janet Andrews, Robert Henderson 1858; Colin Macandrew, Alncandrcw Bay. Titan 1857. Twelve descendants of early settlers were enrolled. *
