METHODIST CONFERENCE.

MEETING AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, March 4. The New Zealand Methodist Conference, at its sitting to-day, tendered heartiest congratulations to the Rev. J. F. Goldie on the completion of 25 years’ missionary work in the Salomon Islands. It was agreed that married home missionaries be appointed to Waihi; a married probationer to Waipawa; an unmarried home missionary to Auckland West; married probationers to Gonville (Wanganui), Eketahuna, and Trinity (Dunedin), to be relieved for another year; Taihape, a married probationer; and Raetihi and Ohakune, unmarried probationers. The following preachers were received on probation:—The Revs. Hames, Larsen, Penn, Rainor, Silvester, and Utting.
