One of the worries which falls to the lot of Mr" A. J. M'Curdy in his capacity as chairman of the Patients’ Fees Accounts Committee of .the Wellington Hospital Board is the task of considering the re* ports of a commercial agency which takes in hand the collection of overdue hospital foes from past patients (says the Dominion), Some of these reports are in favour of the patients, for some of them are in such a position that they are not able to pay the fees at all. It is doubtful, however, whether any report was quite as terse as on® which was read out to the Hospital Board at its meeting recently, from which the- following passage, referring to a dis* charged patient, caused considerable amusement: “His wife wears the brooks, and gives him a bad time. He seems to bq rather soft. Hopeless to collect.”
