The athletes were chosen by A. C. Kitto and the cyclists by G. 11. Harrison. Flett’s selection is justified by the fact that this cyclist was affected by illness on Saturday afternoon, and it was only with the view of keeping faith with the public that he was induced to compete. It is str.ted there is some doubt about R. A. Rose being able to make the trip to Auckland. Should Rose drop out, A. D. Priestley (University) would no doubt be chosen to fill the vacancy.
