Fishing off Cape Brett on Thursday, Air C. Miller, solicitor, of Kawakawa, landed a hammerhead shark of 4621b’ beating the previous record of 3961 b. The fish fought for 2 hours 25 minutes. For permitting his hotel to be the habitual resort of reputed prostitutes'during December, 1926, the former licensee of the Shamrock Hotel, Walter John Arnold, was fined £lO by Mr W. R. M'Kean, S.M., at Auckland on Thursday. As Arnold did not hold a license at the present time, said the magistrate, he could not endorse it. - ’
