EPIC FIGHT WITH PIRATES: BRITISH SHIP ATTACKED BY CHINESE.

The first pictures of the piracy on the British steamer Sunning while on a voyage from Amoy to Hongkong. A body of Chinese, who joined the ship as passengers, overpowered and locked up the six officers. The officers decided to make a desperate attempt to regain control, and, escaping by a ruse, succeeded in routing the pirates after three hours fighting. The defeated Chinese then set the vessel on fire, and some escaped in boats. Four were killed and 22 were captured with the help of H.M.S. Bluebell, which dashed to the rescue.
