THE NEW ZEALAND NAVY.
MOVEMENTS OF WARSHIPS. AUCKLAND, January 25. To the lively strains of the ship’s band the H.M.S. Dunedin, flagship of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, which is returning to England to refit, left her berth at Devonport and sailed round the north head at midday. The Dunedin will be away from New Zealand for about six months. H.M.S. Diomede, which is to carry out gunnery exercises in Hauraki Gulf, also left port this morning. Her departure was originally timed for 9.30, but owing to a, mishap the warship did not get away until 10.50. Leaving the Sheerlegs wharf the Diomede had two targets in tow on the port side. Before the warship got under weigh both targets capsized, and as the larger of the two" was baldly damaged the warship anchored off Devonport. The damaged target was then towed back to the- wharf by boats from the other war* ships, while the smaller one was righted.
H.M.S. DUNEDIN’S ITINERARY. WELLINGTON, January 25. The following is the itinerary of H.M.S. / Dunedin on her voyage to England:—• Leave Auckland on the afternoon o£ January 25, arrive Suva on January 29 ;< ‘ leave Suva on the morning of January 31, arrive Honolulu on the afternoon of February 7, departing on the morning of February . 12; arrive San Diego at noon of February 19, leave on the morning of February 22; arrive at Balboa on tha morning of March-3, and leave after oiling. Colon will be reached on the afternoon of the same day. Leaving on the morning of March 4, the Dunedin will arrive at tha Port of Spain on March 8, in the morning. She will leave there on <the morning of March 12, arriving at Sheerness on, the afternoon of March 24.
