a preliminary discussion as to the measures of research most vital to the dairy industry, Mr Shirtcliffe stressed the desire of the council to secure the goodwill and cooperation of the industry.. Dr Marsden invited the board to nominate a committee of three to consult with the council on principles and procedure. In the discussion disappointment was expressed at the very unsatisfactory, delays being encountered in securing action ' m relation to urgently needed research in Taranaki and the Waikato. The industry itself had had to undertake certain work, but major research work needed to be : done arid action should be'taken.
. A committee consisting of Messrs- Winks, Goodfellow, and the chairman was appointed to consult with the Scientific Research Council as requited.
