SOUTHLAND BORDER LEICESTERS.

CONSIGNMENT TO NEW SOUTH WALES.

INVERCARGILL, January 17. Mr R. J. Anderson (Kauana) despatched a line of Border Leicester sheep, comprising 10 ewe hoggets and one ram to-day to the order of W. Beer, New South Wales, Owing to the shipping trouble the usual boat for Melbourne is not calling at Bluff, so Mr Anderson had to rail the sheep to Port. Chalmers for transhipment by boat to Australia. The sheep are an exceedingly fine line and are considered by good judges, to be about the best Mr Anderson has yet sent away. There is no-reason to doubt the popularity of the Kauana sheep in Australia, and the latest lot to go forward should add to the Southland breeder’s reputation. . - -
