ADVERTISING OVERSEAS.
PRESENT METHODS CRITICISED. CHRISTCHURCH, January 17. That the publicity of New Zealand overseas should be in the hands of a board composed of astute business men, and not in the hands of the Government, is the considered opinion of Mr Gladstone Hill, who has just returned to Christchurch after a lengthy tour embracing South Africa, England, America, and Canada. In the .course of his publicity work for the Commonwealth Band he has had many opportunities of seeing the effect of the publicity work done bv the Government. “The personal touch is wanted,” said Mr Hill. “Without it the advertising if just a waste of money. No one, or only a limited number, reads the publicity pamphlets, unless he or she has come into contact with someone who knows the try personally/*
