No. 10. HARE AND HOUNDS. Ive never played at Hare and Hounds since I left Cambridge, murmured Golly. • “ All you ever knew ab'out Cambridge was the flavour of their sausages!” sneered his pal. “ Anyhow, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if we nad a ganie. You. are getting too fat, and a good run will do you good.” Teddy was the “hare” and Golly was “hounds.” Teddy had got naif-way across a field, when he heard a roar behind- him. It was 1 armer Turnip s prize bull in a nasty' temper! Didn’t poor old Teddy Jun. Golly went round the next field, and when he at last found his chum, the hare was out of breath. “My word,” giggled Golly that was a ‘ hare-breadth ’ escape*’ J ’ You see, he couldn’t resist making a joke at his pal’s expense.
