OTAGO LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. Mr R. S. Galbraith (chairman) presided over a meeting o£ the Otago Land Board on Wednesday. Others present were: Messrs O. J. Inder, G. Livingstone, T. A. Munro, and James Smith. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. A. C. Iversen applied for a grazing license over Crown land adjoining sections 139 to 141, block X, Leaning Rock S.D., approximately 20 to 30 acres. —Declined. Grazing right from year to year granted to A. M'Pherson at annual rental of £l. The board was asked to consider the question of the disposal of closed road -1248 R, block VI. Tarras S.D., 3 roods 27 perches.—Granted to Messrs William Reid and Sons (Ltd.) at capital value of £2. An application by James Leslie for a miscellaneous license over section 43, block V, Kawarau S.D., area 5 acres 2 roods 14 poles was granted at annual rental of 10s. David Reid applied for a grazing license over section 44, block V, Kawarau S.D., area 17 acres,- 1 rood. 7 perches.—Granted at annual rental of 30s. An application by P. B. Boult for an O.R.P. license over sections 32 and 33, block I, Upper Wakatipu S.D., area 145 acres. 1 rood, 13 poles was declined. An application by T. W. Rae for an occupation lease over section 35, block VII, Teviot S.D., area 21 acres 2 roods was granted at annual rental of 15s. Albert Rudd applied for a grazing license over an area of land, adjoining section 143, block XIX. Tuapeka East S.D. area about 4 acres and Alexander D. Brown, of Tuapeka Mouth applied for a grazing license over section 26, block I, Waitahuna West S.D., both being granted at annual rental of 10s.

James Foddie applied for a renewal of his miscellaneous license No. 296 over section 114, block 11, Ardgowan Settlement.— Granted from year to year at annual rental of £B. William George Pullar applied for a renewal of his education reserve lease of section 56. block VI, Moeraki District,— Granted for 21 years from July 1, 1927 at annual rental of £4 ss. W. A. Gardiner applied for a renewal of his Education Reserve lease of section 2 of 42, block I, Waikouaiti S.D. —Granted for 21 years from July 1. 1927, at annual rental of £4 Field Inspector Me e submitted a report on the application of Robert Miller for a renewal of his Education Reserve lease of section 2 of 89. block V 11, North Harbour and Blueskin S.D.—Granted for 21 years, at annual rental of £3 16s 6d. Field Inspector Simpson submitted a report on the application of G. W. Cunningham for a renewal of his Education Reserve lease of section 31, block IX, Glenkenich S.D.—Granted for 21 years at a rental of £2. EXPIRY,OF LEASES. The. board was asked to appoint its appraiser to determine the rental for the renewed lease of part, section 48, block I, Fraser S.D. held under occupation lease by Geo. G. Watts.—Field Inspector Bailey appointed. The board was asked to appoint its appraiser to determine the rental to be fixed on the renewal of occupation lease over section 59, block IX. Leaning Rock district, held by Mrs M. M. Thompson.— Field Inspector Bailey appointed. . Tile board was asked to appoint its appraiser to determine the rental for the renewed lease of part section 16, block VII, Teviot Survey District, held under occupation lease by H. Henderson. —Field Inspector Bailey appointed. REDUCTION OF RENTAL. Chas. Donald applied for a reduction in the rental payable for his miscellaneous license over part, of section 23, block VI, Maniototo S.D.. 11 acres 3 roods 4 perches. —Rent reduced to 30s per annum. SURRENDER OF AREA. The District Engineer, Railways Department, requested that the railway land in block 111, Benger S.D. included in M.L. 2789 held by Jno. Sheehy be excluded from the said license.—Area in license reduced to 56 acres 2 roods 31 perches. THIRDS.

Waikouaiti County Council submitted proposals for' expenditure of “Thirds” accrued for period ended October 31, 1926, amounting to £3O Ils 10d.—Proposals approved awd receiver authorised to pay. TRANSFERS.
