THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES.

CEASING PUBLICATION. WELLINGTON. January 12. After over 60 years of a somewhat chequered career the New Zealand Times will shortly close its doors and its.business will be taken over by its morning- rival, the Dominion. The arrangements reached have not been? disclosed, but it is understood that the Times Company will dispose of its assets —property and plant—and with part of the proceeds purchase a modest share interest in its more successful rival.

The Times has had a long and, for the most part, chequered career, and it is understood its shareholders approved of the course now adopted rather than attempt to raise further capital in an effort to carry on.
