CONTINUALLY IN -TROUBLE. i ' CHRISTCHURCH, January 14. When Daniel M'Arthur, aged 35, who possessed a broad Scottish ! accent, came before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., this morning he .was told that he was of no use to New Zealand. Ho was charged with tha theft of a pair of trousers. Detective Sergeant Young said that; M'Arthur had been in trouble ever sinca he came to Christchurch. In reply to a question accused said that’ he was a married man, and his wife was in the Old Country. “You would be well advised to go and look after her,” remarked Mr Mosley. : “You are no good to us in New Zealand.”' The Magistrate added that M'Arthur was only swelling the ranks of the unemployed,; and sentenced him to one month’s imprisonment with hard labour.
