REPARATION PAYMENT.

THE DOMINION’S SHAKE. WELLINGTON, January 14. The Hon. W. D. Stewart, in a statement concerning the latest reparation payment from Germany, said that tlie Dominion would receive approximately £352,000— £39,000 as a refund of the cost of repatriating German prisoners and £313,000 as New Zealand’s share of the reparations paid by Germany prior to the introduction of the Dawes Plan.

The latter sum of £313,000 has no connection W'ith "payments under, the Dawes Plan> which are now coming to hand quarterly. The total receipts to date under the Dawes Plan amount to £295,442, giving, a total of approximately £608,000 received from Germany of reparations. Reparation moneys, as they are received, are, in accordance with the Government’s decision, being applied in repayment of the war debt, _ _
