Several nights ago a house to let was ’advertised in Stratford, and within a couple of hours of publication over a dozen people had made application for it (says the ost). The following day over 30 other people also made application. This gives an indication of the acuteness 9i the house shortage in Stratford.
“The majority of people in New Zealand take a greater interest in the work of the Navy League than is generally realised. It is the spirit that the league breathes all over the Dominion that is so valuable," remarked Sir Joseph Ward ! (chairman) at the annual meeting of the i Wellington branch of the Navy League.
