INVENTION AND APPLIANCES OF INTEREST TO AGRICULTURE.

TANDEM DISC HARROW. To angle the discs of this harrow the operator pulls a cable which through various levers locks the inner sections of the forward gangs and the outer sections

of the rear gang. Due to the greater resistance of the locked sections the gangs angle as they are drawn forward. The reverse operation is performed to straighten them.

REVERSIBLE PLOUGH. Under the rear end of this plough beam is a U-shaped bracket through both legs of which passes a shaft. The mould board is shaped to form at its

forward end a triangle, which holds a solid block into which the shaft enters. The mould board pivots on this shaft when it is reversed. CULTIVATOR. The axle and centre crossbar of this cultivator may be adjusted to change the width of the cultivator. The axle may he inverted from normal position to

clear the plants in straddling the row. A push rod and breastplate may be attached by clamping the coupling member to the axle. HARROW CART. This cart allows the operator to ride in front of the harrows, and therefore escape their dust. Two vertical arms at the centre of the drag bar are bolted

together above and below the beam. Tho cart is detached from the harrows by loosening the upper bolt and unhooking the diagonal brace rods at their forward ends. DRY MASH FEEDER. The food hopper here lias a flexible skirt extending downwardly close to the bottom of the pan. The feeding poultry move this skirt, which agitates the mash t

and causes it to run down into the pan* The guard over the pan protects the feed from rain, and prevents fowls from roosting on the pan. GANG FRAME FOR IMPLEMENTS. This frame is designed for coupling up two or more ploughs, planters, or cultivators. The illustration shows two com planters coupled. The side frame mem-

bers of the planters are caught in clamps on the front and rear bars of the gang. The front bar may be raised by a hand lever to lift the furrow openers in turning-
