TRADE WITHIN EMPIRE.

AUCKLAND, September 7. At a meeting of the Auckland Industrial Association it was resolved that a remit be forwarded to the Dominion Conference suggesting that, in order to encourage trading within the Empire, the income tax regulations be amended to provide for a differential scheme of taxation, based on the percentage of British and foreign goods used in trading. The association also discussed a proposal to make an industrial display by mean 9 of a train visiting the different centres of the North Island. 'Hie secretary said it was considered that the proposal could be carried out if a vote of £IOOO weri received from the Government, Action in the matter was deferred.
