With a view to strengthening certain classes in next year’s competitions, the Ashburton Competitions Society has been given a sum of £3 by an anonymous donor and a medal by Mr T. H. Lush. The money will bo. used for a class for boys song with own accompaniment (remarks the Guardian), and the medal for violin solo, open to Ashburton county competitors only.
