A seven-seater Hudson motor car. the property of William Charles Coidicott, which was unlawfully removed from Princes Rtreet West, Auckland, was next morning found burnt at Mangere. It is stated that the car is practically ruined. “About all the Meat Producers Board is doing is stopping the sale of meat works in New Zealand. They are doing little in England,” declared a speaker at. a meeting of the Wairarapa Farmers Union. A curious anomaly exists in Hamilton regarding the employment of girls (says an exchange). Many young women who desire positions in shops and offices are unemployed. but a girl who advertised for domestic employment received no fewer than 54 replies. The change in millinery fsshions has been responsible for the reduction of the number of assistants employed in some of the drapers’ shops.
