On Thursday night at Kaitangata the change over from tjie mino supply of electricity to the Power Board’s was made without ceremony. Mr E. A. Shrimpton, Wellington, announces that for several nights, between 5.30 and 9 o’clock, he has heard clear and distinct speech on 45 metres, also on about 30 inetreß, from 2XO, the De Forest Telephone and Telegraph Company, New York. The power in use has not yet been ascertained. He considers that this is a good augury for round-the-world conversation as a practical thing.
