Construction work on the new Konini traffio bridge received a setback recently, when a heavy flood swept away the wooden structures for the oentre pier (reports the Wairarapa Daily Times). Everything was in roadiness to reoeive the oonorete fillings. Much valuable timber was lost and considerable time tnd expense will be necessary to have fresh timber cut and placed in position.
