THE KING’S BIRTHDAY.

LOYAL DUNEDIN OBSERVANCE. The 61st birthday of his Majesty, King Georgo V, was celebrated in Dunedin on Thursday by the closing of the majority of the business houses and an extensive display of bunting. Owing to the perfect weather conditions prevailing many Dunedin residents spent the day Jut of doors, and all June 3 attractions were well patronised. The city was quiet throughout the morning and afternoon save for trains and buses conveying big crowds to Wingatui and the Winter Snow. RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ROYALTY. WELLINGTON, June 3. The Dominion Council of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, which is holding its annual meeting in Wellington, sent a loyal message in recognition of the King’s Birthday.
