The necessity of stretchers on city reserves in Wellington during the football season has been emphasised several times alreadv this season (says the Evening Post), and the suggestion has been made that the City Council should take some steps in the matter. The council decided *t its last meeting that the Basin Reserve and the other principal playing areas throughout the city should be provided with stretchers for the use of inj ired players. The Canterbury Trades and Labour Council has, by the narrow majority of two, decided to renew its affiliation with th« Labour Representation Committee.
