OTAGO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Otago Electric Power Board waa held on Tuesday, and was attended by Messrs P. Briscoe, W. B. Galloway, H. M. Driver, F. Carson, Boyd, and Guest. Mr P Briscoe (deputy chairman of the old board) was unanimously elected chairman for the ensuing year. Mr Briscoe was congratulated by members on his appointment and on the work he had done for the board in the past. It was stated that he would have a hard year in front of him, but no one doubted that Mr Briscoe’s knowledge and experience would prove of great benefit to the board. A notice of motion to the effect that the chairman’s honorarium should be increased was discussed, and it was decided that the honorarium should be £IOO per annum, with travelling expenses, instead of £ 5. The appointment of Finance and Works Committee was left as for the past year—the whole board constituting each committee.
