I’m as hot as a Hottentot,” sighed Golly, as he wiped the perspiration from his black cheeks. “ I’m hotter than that,” Teddy replied. “ I wonder if this chap sells ice-cream? ’Scuse me, sir—we'll both have a 1 cornet.’ ” “ He’ll think you want to start a jazz band,” whispered Golly. They found that Abdul was not a pedlar of ice cream, and that he could supply them with a drink of cool water to quench their thirsts. “ By gum,” said Teddy, smacking his lips, “ that was delicious.” “ Excuse me, sir, but we are touring the world,” explained Golly. “ What place do you recommend us to visit next?” “ Ah, Son of the Night,” mumbled the water merchant, 11 your Highnesses must see Persia; it is a beauteous land!” “ What say?” asked Golly. “ Oh, ay!” replied Teddy, “we must certainly Gutta Persia!” and off they went.
