CHARGE OF FRAUD.

AUCKLAND, May 4. A charge of incurring a debt of £3 10s by fraud in Dunedin Inst September was preferred against William Edward Walker in the Police Court to-day. Chief-detective Cummings said that the accused obtained hoard on the representation that he had been employed bv the Christchurch Tramway Company, and had been transferred to Dunedin. This statement was false. He was now serving a long sentence for another offence. The Magistrate (Mr F. K. Hunt) said that under the circumstances the accused would he convicted and discharged.
