ASSAULT AND ROBBERY.
AUCKLAND, May 7. There was a sensational occurrence id Mozley avenue, Devonport, on Thursday evening when, under cover of darkness, owing to street electric lights being tero porarily off, Thomas Taylor, a middle aged man, was set upon by three men He was hit on the head with a Vtavy instrument, and his valuable was stolen. The victim was subsequently found in a semi-conscious condition and removed to a private hospital, where he is pro* greasing favourably.
