IONIC’S ROUGH TRIP.

ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON. LARGE .PARTY OF IMMIGRANTS. WELLINGTON, May 8. The lonic, with 546 passengers, arrived from London last night and was berthed to-day. Included in the passengers were 379 immigrants and 12 girls for Flock House. The girls are in the best of health, and left for Awapuni this afternoon. One girl said there were thousands of girls like those in the party, who were eager to live the life of a colonial girl. The voyage of the vessel was one of the worst experienced bv the liner. From the day the vessel left London she experienced shocking weather. For the first 10 days the seas tossed her about mercilessly. Tho waves came over her at all points, but luckily no damage was done. The bad weather continued right up to sighting New Zealand.
