Tuesday last was the 63rd anniversary of the massacre of nine members of a party, of 10 from tlie 57fch Regiment (the hards”) ot Taranaki during the Maori wan. Sergeant-Major Bexar, of Wellington, was responsible for the capture of one of tbs murderers.
