REV. W. WALKER’S TRIBUTE.
During the service at the Central Mission last night the Rev. W. Walker made suitable reference to the closing of the Exhibition. lie remarked upon the large congregations which have attended the Sunday evening services in the Octagon Hall during the past six months, and the jov it had been to welcome visitors from all parts of the Dominion. Concerning the Exhibition, the preacher stated that it had been conceived on a big scale, and reflected great credit on all who had laboured to carry it to so successful an issue. A very marked feature had been the orderliness and good humour of the crowds. An excellent spirit had prevailed throughout. Never once, had he seen a case of drunkenness inside the grounds, which spoke well for the sobriety of the people. Amidst the heavy strain which had been placed upon the tramwaymen and bus drivers they had manifested wonderful patience and forbearance. Undoubtedly the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders' Band had greatly contributed to the success of the Exhibition.
