ME MOYLE’S SUSPENSION. CHRISTCHURCH, April 27. It is considered probable that if the New Zealand Council of the Rugby League fails to satisfy the Canterbury League that its suspension of Mr W. S. E. Moyle, ex-secretary of the latter body, was justified by the facts, which have so far not been disclosed by the council, the local executive will disregard the council’s decision. Pressure from the affiliated leagues may cause the council to rescind its resolution. When interviewed to-day, Mr Moyle stated that the council had been influenced in its action by the receipt from the Canterbury League of a copy of a letter from Mr E. G. M CuHough to the Monica Park Board of Control in which lie stated that he could not see his way clear to find his guarantee for payment for the grand stand and other buildings. A covering letter from the board to the league intimated that Mr M‘Cu-1 lough's attitude was due to his objection to a member of the Canterbury League. The letter had advised the council that the member referred to was Mr Moyle. Mr Moyle stated that he did not for a moment think that the resolution would stand, as it was opposed by the influential officials of several of the affiliated leagues, including Auckland. “ They will not stand for it," he said, ‘ f aud j str.ll •»: greatly surprised if Otago or the \\ *c 'Wst, not to mention Canterbury. \v;!i condone my suspension on such a flimsy pretext." He added that he would comply only with the wishes of the Canterbury League. CHRISTCHURCH. April 28. Arising out of the decision of the New Zealand League Football Council that Mr W. S. E. Movie should resign all his offioes on the Canterbury League, the latter body to-night resolved bv an over whelming majority to advise the council that when the league considers it fit and proper to disqualify anv member or player it will do so. and will notify the council through its own delegate. The chairman. Mr T. B. Carpenter, resigned when the reflation was carried. AUCKLAND GAMES. AUCKLAND. May 2. Trie following are the results of Saturday's games:— Fonuonby 30. City Marists 31. Mr Ilammifl (chairman) said the council point blank refused to receive n notice of motion on the matter. They find no ohiection to Mr Mair. It was merely the method of his appointment that they did not agree with. PROGRAMME OF TRIALS. AUCKLAND, April 30.
