TO AMUSE AUCKLAND.
EXHIBITION DEVICES SOLD. After the c'ose of the Exhibition, the Whip, Caterpillar, Scenic Railway, Water Caves, Dodgem, Merry Mix-up, and Fun Factory will be transported to Auckland, where a Dunedin syndicate proposes to run an Amusements Park. On Tuesday it was announced by the Exhibition authorities that the devices in the Amusements Park had been sold to the syndicate, which has lately been formed to float a New Zealand Company with a capital of from £25,000 to £30,000. A site has already been secured in Auck- 1 land, where the replica of the popular area
at Logan .Park will be erected. The wooden structure of the Scenic Railway is to be demolished, but the cars, rails, motors, and running gear will be retained by the syndicate and used on the new framework. It is stated that the new Scenic Railway will be three times as long as the present one, with improved equipment. Some indication of the money-making capability of the Scenic Railway is to be gained from the fact that the device at the Exhibition will have earned approximately £20,000 by May 1.
