NEED FOR PRUDENCE. * (From Oub Own Cobrespondent.) WELLINGTON, April 19. The Prime Minister said to-day that though the information was not complete the indications were that the balance for the trade year would be against them. “It is obvious,” he says, “ that if our imports exceed our exports we shall have to draw in somewhere.” Mr Coates does not consider there is the slightest need for alarm, but is of the opinion that the Government, local bodies, private enterprises, and individuals will have to exercise great care in the matter of expenditure.
