BRITISH SCHOOLBOYS’ TOUR SIX MONTHS’ HOLIDAY. \ (Tarif rjß Own Correspondent.) LONDON, March 10. The School Empire Tour Committee, in connection with the Church of England Council of Empire Settlement, announces that arrangements are now complete for the first tour of the schoolboys for Australia. The committee has decided that a party of 100 boys shall visit the Commonwealth in tho course of this year. Major-General Sir Robert Porter (late Director of Medical '*■ Services to the Second—Lord Plumer’s— ,■ Army) will bo in charge. The travellers T will leave England in the Hobson’s Bay on August 3. It is expected that the whole tour will take between five and six months, » and the boys will be hack in England early j in January, 1927. The tour of Australia f will include a stay of from 10 days to a fortnight in each State. The total inclusive cost of the trip for each boy will be £135. The boys selected should be between the ngos of 16 and 19. In the final selection : bv the Committee the greatest importance will be attached to the recommendations > of the headmasters, and the application j forms have been framed for transmission I through the headmasters of the schools con- > cerned.
