THREE MEN CONVICTED. PROSECUTIONS AT INVERCARGILL. INVERCARGILL. April 21. The sequel to tnree recent motor accidents on the North road was heard in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when the motorists concerned were charged with negligent driving. In one case a girl named Ivy Tuffery, who was cycling along the road early one morning, was knocked down by a motor cyclist and received serious injuries. The young naan concerned in the accident. William McClelland, was fined £3 for not reporting the accident to the police, and was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. On a charge of negligent driving James Harvey, an elderly man, who ran into and smashed a telegraph pole, was convicted and discharged His license was suspended for 12 months, as the police stated that he was apt to collapse at the wheel, and he had had numerous mishaps with his car recently. George Wallace Pow, charged with negligent driving as the result of n serious collision with a tram car. was convicted and fined £3.
