A MAORI'S DEATH.

MANSLAUGHTER ALLEGED. TATHAPE, March 13. William Martin Collins was arrested to-day and charged with manslaughter. The charge arose out of the death of a Maori named Hnere Puru, who was found unconscious on the road, and died later in hospital. It is alleged that the deceased was knocked down by a horse ridden by the accused. Collins appeared before justices of the peace this morning, and was remanded to appear before a magistrate on March 22. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £IOO and self £IOO.
