CYCLING MATCH.
CHRISTCHURCH, March 2. A cycling match between Phil O’Shea and Harris Border (the Australian rider), who recently returned from America, was won by Horder at the Stadium to-night iu the presence of 7000 people. In the first distance of half a mile (paced) Horder won by three-quarters of a length in 62 l-ssec. In the .-xcond distance ui three-quarter? of a mile the Australian defeated the New Zealander by inches in a sensational finish, the time being lmin 25sec.

Those remarks wore made by the Coroner (Mr W. G. Riddell) at the inquest on the death of James Power, whe was killed at Porirua level crossing on February 28. Evidence was given that deceased was warned that a train was approaching. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
