Mr J. Drummond, of the “UoneydaU Apiaries,” Roinahupa, secured a yield of 301 b of honey from one hive, and on th® next day from the same hive 381 b (report# the Free Press). On the following day the yield dropped to 151 b, owing to the extremely hot day. Bees require moisture to do their best. Mr Drummond considers the yields of 301 b und 381 b consecutively something of a record. Incidentally, he states that it has been a poor season generally speaking for the beekeepers of South Otago, but ha 9 picked tip lately. The hoes in this case were feeding on the rata trees, whioh are now in full bloom.
