COLUMBA COLLEGE ENTERTAINMENT

In the afternoon a novel and picturesque entertainment was given in the Festival Hall by the pupils of Columba College. There were some splendid expositrons of fancy dancing and vivid and beautiful scenes from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” were other of the outstanding features. Judging from this performance there is no question that the pupils at Columba College have a highly developed aesthetic sense. The programme was as follows:—Junior Drill — Play exercises, English hay-making dance*, seniors—military ballet* intermediate drill (free exercise)—scarf dance; seniors—Russian dance; rhythmic game—Fog and the Sunbeams; senior drill—marching exercises and squad drill; gavotte—song and dance, “Lack-a-Dav”; Eurythmic dancing—“ln a Sylvan Glaae”; scenes from ‘‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ Shakespeare).
