ENGINEERS' RESIGNATION.

MEETING OF PROTEST AT TAURANGA. TAURAN'GA, December 5. A largely attended public meeting passed a resolution protesting against the Borough Council's treatment of the electrical engineer (Mr Lloyd Mandeno), who explained to the meeting that as the result of an allegation by the mayor (Mr B. Dive) that he (Mr Mandeno) wa3 not looking after the interests of the borough, he had no alternative but to resign his position. The mayor had refu<?ed to give any specific reasons for his statement. The meeting further resolved to call upon the mayor ana councillors to resign and re-contest an election against a ticket of candidates to be nominated at a meeting.
