CONFERENCE DELEGATES. AUCKLAND, August 9. The delegates to the conference of the Empire Press Union to be held in Melbourne will arrive at Auckland on Sunday by the Aorangi from Vancouver and will make an extensive tour of the North Island. The itinerary has been arranged by the Tourist Department, and Mr A. E. Wilson (manager at Auckland), who will personally conduct- the tour. A civic reception will be extended to visitors on the morning of August 17. They will spend the lest of the clay in seeing the city and suburbs. On the following day the party will proceed by special train to Frankton, where they will inspect the house factory of the Railway Department. They will qo on the same day to Rotorua, arriving m the evening. The programme in the thermal district includes a visit to Wairakei. The •delegates will return to Te Kuiti on August 22, and will visit the Waitomo Caves-, leaving the following day by motor car- for New Plymouth via Awakino. A civic reception and dinner figure on the New Plymouth programme, and the party will be taken to Mount Egmont, and will also have an opportunity of insi>ecting the dairy factories. A special train will convey them to Wellington on Tuesday, August 25. The party will spend Wednesday and Thursday in Wellington. A civic reception will be accorded them, and the delegates will be the guests at dinner. They will leave Wellington on Thursday evening by special train for Auckland, connecting witn tho Moeraki for Sydney on August 28.
