ABERDEEN ANGUS CATTLE.

BREEDERS’ GIFT OF STUD STOCK. WELLINGTON, August 8. At Palmerston North some months agar Mr Frank Armstrong, of Akitio Station, presented 10 stml Aberdeen Angus heifers and one bull of the purest blood to tho Government as a foundation for a stud herd of this breed of cattle. Activities on the Government farms as far as cattle are concerned have been devoted mainly to breeding milking strains. It appeared later to Mr Armstrong that greater benefits could be secured to the dominion by hand* ing the cattle to the trustees of the owners’ fund for the Flock House Station, where a herd of Abrdeen Angus cattle has nlrendy been established. The Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) has approved of the transfer, and this week the cattle will be sent to Flock House from the central development farm at Weraroa. Mr Armstrong’s sole desire is that the gill shall be of service to the dominion.
