DAMMING THE KAWARAU RIVER AT THE FALLS, QUEENSTOWN.

The latest contribution to the solution of the housing problem is a wooden house designed specially for mass production and quick erection. This house was built for Mr Holt Thomas at the Bellfield Timber Works, High Wycombe, Bucks, in 10¼ hours, four .killed men and two labourers only being employed. It was started at 6.30 a.m. (foundation having been previously prepared); by 2 p.m. the roof was ready for tiling, and the house finished at 5.45 p.m. The house has a living-room, two bedrooms, scullery, bathroom, and is made in sections; the price being approximately £2BO. The finished house, known as the Bellfield Cottage, is shown in the photograph.
