PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE. (From Oub Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, May 5. During the month ended March 31, the amount paid out in settlement of new loans was £161,704, private mortgagors £104,304, and local bodies £57,400. Further new loans were granted to the amount of £261,195, private mortgagors £106,425, and local bodies £154,770. The total loans granted, but not yet paid, amount to £640,430, and the* amounts offered being less than the full loans applied for amount to £64,690 —a grand total of £705,020. Applications on hand awaiting consideration amount to £409,945. Tlie total amount of loans paid out during the financial year ended March 31, is £2,458,780, private mortgagors £1,687,693 and local bodies £771,057. The now estate© reported for administration during the month were of a value of £331,359, making a total for the year of £4,621,869, an increase of £840,714 over the year ended March 31, ltf24, which was itaelf a record year. A further 617 new wills of living testators were also deposited in the office during the month of March for safe custody, bringing the number so held up to 44,102.
