OVERDOSE OF A DRUC.
MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE PENDING. AUCKLAND, May 7. Arising out of the death of a man named Bilcliffe in a city hotel about three weeks ago through an overdose of a drug, George Edward Barker, aged 21. who waa associated with the deceased, appeared at the Police Court this morning on a charge of vagrancy. In asking that Barker be further remanded until May 14. Chief U»: tective Cummings stated that a charge of manslaughter would be preferred against the accused on that date. Mr Moody, for Barker, said that under the circumstances he would not apply for bail. The remand was granted.
