Chums in Nursery Land
Told by Teddy.
Pictures by
Ern. Shaw.
Just as Golly was telling me about Miss Polly’s Nursery Book a scream rang out. The sound seemed to come from round a high cliff near by. “ Come on,” said /, “ that sounds like a lady in distress,” and like two gallant knights we galloped off in the direction of the screams. V/hat a sight we saw! There Was a pretty little maid fleeing from a great ugly spielttr, which had sat down beside her, while she Was eating some curds and whey. Her name was Miss Muffet, and she had been sitting cn a tuffet on which Mr. Spider was now perched, but when he saw us running towards him he scampered off out of sight. The young lady was so frightened that there seemed little likelihood of her return. Being rather hungry, we finished off the contents of the basin. (To be Continued.)
