“At a prohibition lecture once,” Mr H, E. B. Watson told his audience at a Jersey demonstration at Levin (says the Chronicle), “I heard the lecturer sav ‘that there was nothing like whisky to make people oblivious to its effects.’ But when I go round and seen the class of cow that many farmers are carrying, on with, I begin to think that whisky is not in it as a deceiver with the scrub cow.”—(Laughter and applause.) THERE IS GRAVE DANGER IN NEGLECTING A COLD. Few people seem to realise the serious risk they run in neglecting a simple cold or chill. All sorts of complications may arise which may lead to tragic cons©* quences. One may say, “Oh, there’s no danger with an ordinary cold.” Neither ther© is provided reasonable care is exercised and the cold is treated promptly with a reliable remedy. Unfortunately, how* ever, whilst most of us aro very solicitous about other people’s state of health, we are the very first to make light of our own little ailments. A cold (even a heavy one) is often completely neglected, or else one may possibly buy some throat lozenges from a confectioner—often wasting good money and valuable time in this way when a dose or two of Henrne’s Bronchitis Care would have banished the whole trouble In a few hours. It is 2s 6d and 4s 6d per but in medicines more than in any other things, it pays to buy the best right at the start, as it really saves money and anxiety.
