AN AEROPLANE CRASHES.

PALMERSTON NORTH, January 22. A narrow escape form death was experienced this morning by Percy Coleman, racing motorist and aviator, at the commencement of an aeroplane flight at Ashhurst, whero he was to compete at the motor sports lie crashed to earth with his machine, sustaining cuts and other injuries to his face and mouth. An eye-witness to the accident says that the machine left the shed at Milson s line, ran along the paddock to take off. and rose from the ground about 20ft; then it crashed through the telegiaph and elect rio supply wires, and nose-dived and fell to earth. Coleman was assisted to a near-by house, and was then taken to town to a doctor. His injuries are not severe enough for hospital treatment.
